Programming and programme advisory work
Maria’s programming work begin in the mid-1990s as co-founder with Sandra Hebron of the ¡Viva! Film Festival at Cornerhouse Cinemas and includes the co-curating of the “South-American Renaissance” season (with Demetrios Matheou) at the British Film Institute in 2010, the curating of the “Lorca on Film” season at the Cine Lumière (produced by Tristana Media (2009) and “Lorca and surrealism” at the National Galleries of Scotland, Edinburgh), and consultancy work for the Brixton Reel Film Festival.
In 2016 she served as a Curatorial Advisor for the 2016 Almodóvar Season at the BFI.
As a former programming associate for the Argentine Film Festival London, Maria Delgado has collaborated in bringing some of the most exciting and innovative new Argentine cinema to London. Her association with the film festival includes a series of Q&As for the 2012 and 2013 editions and introductions for 2014 screenings.
Her collaborations with Nico Marzano involved the co-curation of the Latin American Monthly series at the ICA (2016-21).
